A Buyer in the retail industry is responsible for selecting and purchasing stocks. They analyze consumer buying patterns and predict future trends. Certifications like Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) may prove beneficial. Prior to becoming a Buyer, individuals may have roles such as Purchasing Assistant, Merchandising Assistant, or Junior Buyer. These positions provide valuable experience in inventory management, supplier relations, and understanding market trends, laying a firm foundation for a successful career as a Buyer in the retail industry.
