Merchandising Jobs in Ohio
A Merchandising Professional in the retail industry plays an integral role in the product promotion, pricing, analysis and distribution strategy of an organization. They are responsible for selecting the right product assortment based on customer preferences, market trends, and the organization's financial objectives. Key skills for a Merchandising Professional include strategic planning, analytical thinking, knowledge of consumer behavior, negotiation abilities, and excellent communication skills. They should also have the ability to use software tools for inventory management, sales forecasting, and data analysis. A relevant certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) can enhance their potential in the industry.
Before becoming a Merchandising Professional, a person may have roles such as a Retail Sales Associate, where they would get firsthand experience of customer service and sales. They may also work as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, managing inventory and supplier relationships, which can give them insights into the purchasing side of the retail business.
