Buyer - (Entry Level)
Location: Onsite Austin, TX 78724
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM CST (Day Shift, 8 hours per day)
Compensation: Up to $37 per hour DOE

Position Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Buyer to join our team onsite in Austin, TX. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing non-strategic suppliers (valued up to $5M), sourcing and procuring materials, and supporting ongoing purchasing operations.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, possess strong communication and negotiation skills, and be eager to collaborate across teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate pricing and purchase terms under supervision; handle the procurement of materials, components, equipment, and services while balancing quality, cost, reliability, and urgency.
  • Source, quote, and expedite materials to ensure timely delivery and maintain inventory at planned levels.
  • Collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to evaluate new suppliers, issue RFQs, analyze proposals, negotiate pricing and delivery schedules, and process purchase orders.
  • Administer vendor contracts in line with purchasing policies and business processes.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and engineering to support inventory management.
  • Lead problem resolution relating to material accounting and receiving.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and facilitate payment approvals.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree required (preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field).

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain processes, purchasing strategies, and contract management.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, logistics, and vendor relations.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Experience with procurement software (such as SAP, SCV, ARIBA) is required.
  • Proficient in data analysis and procurement process optimization.
  • Capable of working under pressure and adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Previous purchasing or procurement experience and industry-specific knowledge are valuable.

  • Strong negotiation skills for securing favorable terms and pricing.
  • Effective organization and time-management to juggle multiple projects.
  • Initiative, collaboration, and team spirit, with an eagerness to share knowledge and lead small projects as needed.
