Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Job Summary:

MS Companies is partnering with a confidential manufacturing organization to hire a Purchasing Assistant for a corporate office location in Greenwood, Indiana. This role supports both direct and indirect purchasing activities to ensure uninterrupted production and operational support.

The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for purchase order accuracy, supplier coordination, inventory monitoring, and MRO procurement within an ERP/MRP-driven environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, structured corporate setting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

1+ months of purchasing, inventory, or administrative support experience or equivalent education/training

Experience working with ERP or MRP systems

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines

Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Purchasing or MRO experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment

Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures

Experience monitoring supplier performance and delivery timelines

Familiarity with inventory control processes

Experience working with Access databases

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Self-starter mindset with high dependability and attendance

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Verify, correct, and generate purchase orders within ERP systems, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, due dates, and compliance

Monitor supplier performance and escalate delivery issues as needed

Monitor and maintain inventory levels in accordance with company policies

Obtain proper authorization for MRO purchases per established procedures

Track and monitor MRO orders to ensure on-time delivery

Provide MRO order status updates to internal requesters

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Perform additional duties as assigned by Purchasing leadership

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Office-based corporate environment

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods

Ability to lift and carry small parcels or office materials

Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer systems
