Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Territory Sales Representative to drive sales growth of our fiber optic fusion splicer, splice on connector and cable assembly product lines by representing the company, products and message within already established accounts within a designated territory for IL, IA, MN, MN, KS, MO, NE, SD & ND. (Candidates MUST reside in one of these states - candidates not residing oon one of these states will not be considered) This position is responsible for executing territory sales strategies, developing key customer relationships and ensuring rep firms are fully aligned with UCL goals and trained on our technical product portfolio.
This position will require a proactive mindset, go-getter attitude and superior customer service skills. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of supporting company strategies, a passion for helping others, be well organized and possess superb communication skills. You will engage with customers and explore how UCL Swift solutions can meet their needs with more efficiency through active listening, strong communication and coordination, as well as continued product knowledge growth and the latest telecom technology. You will play a key role in the sales teams’ success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rep Firm Management : Manage and support network of independent manufacturer’s rep firms within the assigned territory; Coordinate communications from management, provide sales tools and support to ensure rep productivity and alignment; Communicate performance targets and manage accountability through CRM activity tracking & KPI monitoring; Conduct regular business reviews
- Sales Execution : Achieve or exceed sales targets for fiber optic fusion splicers in assigned territory; Identify new opportunities in enterprise market through interfacing eith distribution channels partners, contractors and end users; Provide technical sales support during customer presentations, demos and trials
- Market Development : Execute territory sales plans that align with national strategies as established by management; Attend regional trade shows, training events, and customer visits to build and maintain market presence and brand visibility; Monitor market trends, competitive products, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of B2B sales experience in the fiber optic or telecom industry
- Experience managing &/or engaging independent rep firms or indirect sales channels
- Previous exposure to fusion splicers & fiber optic tools, connectors and telecommunications infrastructure
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals and growing a market share
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation presence and relationship-building skills
- Proficient in CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in low-voltage contractors, electrical contractors &/or distributors
- Technical aptitude or prior hands-on experience with fiber optic equipment is a strong PLUS
