Summary of the Role
We are looking for an experienced buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in obtaining required materials, sourcing from additional vendors, and consolidating vendors to meet our organization's procurement needs. This position requires a blend of Excel proficiency and knowledge of ERP processes to optimize our purchasing strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing Strategy: Assist in the development and execution of sourcing strategies that align with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.
- Risk Assessment: Assist in evaluating potential risks associated with suppliers and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and Quality Assurance, to ensure sourcing decisions support overall business strategies.
- Order Management: Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and address any issues related to order fulfillment.
- Expediting: Follow up and expedite the delivery of purchase orders placed with vendors.
- Report Review: Review daily and weekly reports related to late-confirmed and non-confirmed purchase orders in both the U.S. and Canada.
- Inventory Oversight: Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock and prevent shortages or overstock situations. Collaborate with Field Inventory Managers.
Skills and Abilities:
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional quantitative, data analysis, and interpretation skills.
- Experience using ERP systems to support reporting and analytics.
- Strong project management and process improvement capabilities.
- Proven problem-solving experience in reducing total costs and improving processes.
- Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred but not required. A high school diploma with 57 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with procurement software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
