Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff. Supervisory functions include: assists in hiring and termination decisions; prioritizes assignments and directs work; develops and oversees employee work schedules and approves time away from work; provides and/or facilitates employee training and development; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; completes employee performance appraisals.
- Responds to inquiries of incidents regarding customer accounts; authorizes adjustments and corrections as needed. Assists supervisors with customer concerns, responding via phone and in writing.
- Develops and maintains current reports for supervisors. Reviews analyst reports, assists with procedural questions, and provides management approval. Processes division approval for requisitions for purchases and approves petty cash transactions. Reviews data entry of revenues and processes end of month reconciliation and deferred revenue adjustments.
- Assists in preparing departmental budget, providing estimates and forecasting for financials related to all four bridges, construction projects, debt service, refrigerated facility, and bonds.
- Supervises financial accounts for the department and verifies sufficient funding to cover expenses. Processes transfer of funds between accounts and reviews for corrections when needed. Tracks monthly expenses, fees, and rental revenues, communicating with external entities as necessary.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
- Performs related work as required.

- Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk.
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. - Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
