Summary: The Contractor Sales Representative is responsible for growing and developing MSIs contractor sales based out of Edison NJ.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 3 Saturday(s) a month from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Compensation: This salaried, exempt position pays from $60,000 to $70,000 per year. The estimated annual pay for new hires generally ranges from $65,000 to $85,000 or more, depending on experience, education level and commission structure.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Concentrates on getting the top contractor prospects to buy from our company. You will get a great understanding of our products and pitch them to major customers. You will bring out the benefits of our products and our company and lure potential customers to buy from us.
  • Create a large client base by searching in the market with google, social media, and other search methods to focus on bringing new customers to our newly redesigned showroom and buy.
  • Must be committed and persistent in establishing new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other market prospects.
  • Serves customers by selling all of MSI products lines and meeting customer needs in the multi-family, large commercial projects, luxury home builders, management companies, residential remodel, and any contractor-related sales stream.
  • Provide excellent service that customers will appreciate and will result in long-term successful business relationships.
  • Value engineering specified materials on projects and being able to change to our MSI products that are similar in specifications and appearance.
  • Contributes to teams efforts of growing sales and works closely with other team members in order to maintain pricing consistency in the market.
  • Quotes prices, discuss credit terms, and prepares sales contracts for customer orders.
  • Review and analyze various sales reports to identify sales potential with current customers and potential new customers.
  • Constant learner of our flooring, wall surfaces, countertops, and hardscape materials.
  • Attends trade shows throughout the year as required.
  • Travels approximately 25-40% locally as required.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting an activity daily plan calendar, and completes daily sales visit reports.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to their supervisor.
  • Performs additional duties as required and or requested.

Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelors Degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience preferred.
  • Strong math skills calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers.
  • Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills

  • Confidence and motivation to work toward targets
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well alone or within a team
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
