As a Retail Associate / Cashier, your top priority is to greet guests with warmth and provide thoughtful, efficient service. You are responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and ensuring smooth, accurate transactions. As the face of our cafe/marketplace, you play a key role in creating the welcoming, community-driven atmosphere that defines Under-Study.

Job Responsibilities:
Greet all guests warmly and in a timely manner, ensuring each person feels welcomed and cared for upon arrival.
Provide knowledgeable and efficient service, offering guidance on cafe and marketplace offerings.
Understand and share the story behind our curated products, including Black Oak Coffee, and what makes our partnerships unique and intentional.
Maintain familiarity with our menu, including food, beverage, and retail items, with the ability to describe ingredients, make recommendations, and be aware of dietary sensitivities and allergies.
Carefully and accurately pack guest orders, ensuring all items are correct, well-presented, and ready for takeaway or delivery.
Operate the TOAST POS system with accuracy, processing payments, handling returns, and entering orders efficiently.
Execute opening and closing duties using provided checklists, ensuring the cafe and marketplace are clean, stocked, and organized for daily service.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all guest-facing areas.
Keep a close eye on guest needs, proactively offering assistance and creating a positive, engaging experience for every visitor.
Learn and follow all Under-Study operational procedures and expectations outlined in the training manual.
Monitor and communicate needs for restocking cafe/retail supplies as they arise.
Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth, efficient, and joyful daily operation.

Qualifications / Skills:

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to walk at a moderate to brisk pace
Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours
Must keep a clean and neat appearance at all times

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Food handlers certificate
1 Year Retail or Cashier

Compensation: Hourly ($16.50 - $25.00)
