Full-Time Childrens Bookseller
Join the team at The Book Stall, an iconic independent bookstore known for its vibrant childrens department, exceptional customer service, and deep connection to the community. We are seeking a full-time Childrens Bookseller who is passionate about childrens literature, enthusiastic about helping young readers discover books they love, and excited to contribute to a lively, creative bookstore environment.
Responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service to children, parents, educators and librarians
Maintain and merchandise the childrens department with creativity and attention to detail
Assist with inventory management, shelving, receiving, and displays
Support and participate in author events, storytimes, school partnerships, and seasonal programming
Support Childrens Book Buyer and Childrens Events Coordinator as needed
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of childrens and young adult literature
Previous bookselling, retail, library, classroom, or customer service experience preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional evenings
Ability to lift boxes of books and remain active throughout the workday
