Job DetailsShe Wolf is hiring a Retail Operations Manager to lead retail sales and customer service across our NYC Greenmarket and Navy Yard Cafe operations.

Responsibilities include:
- In partnership with the management team and company leadership, develop business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short- and long-term objectives and translate those strategies into actionable goals for performance, growth, and annual operational planning
- In partnership with the management team, operate the business in accordance with achieving budgeted sales and operating costs, including actively engaging with monthly P&L statements and other financial tools to understand, and impact, sales and cost trends by:
- Organizing, scheduling, and monitoring Cafe and Market / Driver team staffing, workflow, and productivity in accordance with business demand to achieve budgeted labor costs
- Manage timecards, punch change requests, and time off requests
- Ensuring our Cafe and Market / Driver teams are trained on best practices for food handling, coffee production, and providing excellent customer service
- Working with the cafe team to continuously develop our beverage program, document recipes, and provide training on new offerings
- Organizing, scheduling, and monitoring Cafe and Market / Driver team staffing, workflow, and productivity in accordance with business demand to achieve budgeted labor costs
- Efficiently and effectively manage all Cafe and Greenmarket operations:
- Track daily cafe and market income and outcomes, and handle weekly cash count and bank deposits
- Set daily cafe pars for all pastry and savory items
- Maintain market kits and associated equipment, and ensure cafe and market displays and signage are up-to-date and seasonally relevant
- Manage cafe inventory and ordering of all related retail, coffee, and paper goods
- Maintain Greenmarket relationships and attend monthly Greenmarket Farmer and Community Advisory Committee (FCAC) meetings
- Work as part of the the management team to stay current, engaged and solutions-oriented on facilities maintenance, including mechanical systems, cleanliness, pest issues, equipment, organization and food safety compliance
- Work as part of the management team to:
- Develop and implement systems and processes that are effective, efficient, and compliant with all laws and internal policies
- Continuously recruit top talent to build an agile, diverse, and committed team, including identifying opportunities for cross-training and trailing candidates to evaluate their competency and skill level
- Resolve conflict and employee performance issues through mediation, coaching and counseling, and progressive discipline
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings regarding the overall strategy and success of the business, including team meetings, quarterly financials, and HR trainings
- Work with company leadership to establish and achieve clear individual performance goals
Successful candidates will:
- Have 1+ year of experience in bakery, cafe, retail, and/or market operations
- Have a valid New York Driver's License with a clean driving history
- Be reliable, focused, organized, communicative, and curious
- Have a receptive and charitable attitude toward constructive feedback
- Be interested in working collaboratively towards meeting the goals of the team and the business
- Experience managing direct reports or a team is strongly preferred

While performing the duties of the job, the Retail Operations Manager is regularly required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Compensation: Salary ($70,000.00 - $75,000.00)
