We are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join the pack!

Elopak Inc, one of the top global, food packaging manufacturers is currently hiring at a new, state of the art manufacturing facility at the Port of Little Rock and needs a capable purchasing coordinator to help us be prepared for the initial launch of our 2nd production line and the day-to-day operations by purchasing and managing inventory.

PURPOSE

The Purchasing Coordinator plays a critical role in our organization by utilizing software to forecast and manage inventory levels efficiently. This role involves monitoring materials, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely availability of goods to support production or operational needs. The successful candidate will contribute to our company's success by optimizing inventory management and minimizing procurement costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Utilize software to generate accurate material demand forecasts based on production schedules and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, monitor supplier performance, and address any supply-related issues.
  • Create and manage purchase orders in line with software recommendations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budget constraints.
  • Plan and execute cycle counts to be able to monitor and adjust inventory levels to avoid overstock or stockouts while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and finance, to align procurement strategies with overall business goals.
  • Generate reports on material planning, procurement activities, and cost-saving initiatives for management review.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday-Friday
  • 8 hour shift
