Role Description:

Summary

The Marketing Manager provides oversight of key marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness, a positive return on investment in marketing campaigns and supports the overall company vision, and growth goals. This position is to provide insight, oversight through strategic planning and leadership regarding campaigns, vendor partnerships, and marketing team member goals and objectives. We are looking for a leader who is both strategic and hands-on—someone who is comfortable using data to guide decisions, such as campaign performance and lead quality, while also being able to move efficiently and avoid unnecessary complexity. The ability to step in and support execution when needed is a strong asset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a team of marketing professionals to achieve performance goals.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with sales, product, and operations teams to align marketing strategies with business objectives.
  • Develop connections with the Builder Federation to help guide and develop local marketing strategies.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to generate and nurture leads.
  • Oversee creation of social media content, digital campaigns, and event marketing (including builder conferences and industry events).
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels and platforms.
  • Forge new paths for growth and adoption rates through builder and homebuyer education.

Lead Management & Growth

  • Manage the full lead lifecycle, from acquisition to nurturing to handoff to sales.
  • Use CRM/marketing automation platforms (HubSpot and Salesforce) to track, analyze, and optimize lead generation efforts.
  • Oversee website (WordPress) development and strategy to enhance Wausau Homes’ digital footprint, with a focus on in-house control over updates, landing pages, and forms to strengthen overall digital presence.
  • Develop targeted campaigns to cultivate and engage prospective customers.
  • Develop and manage structured email journeys for both homebuyers and builders—educating them about Wausau Homes, the building process, expectations, new launches, and available options to deepen engagement and build long-term relationships.
  • Work as liaison with external development team for both Salesforce and WordPress projects.
  • Assist with answering Wausau Homes main phone to understand customer needs and current marketplace.
  • Collaborate with builders to understand pain points in the lead process and how marketing can solve/provide higher quality leads.

Systems & Analytics

  • Leverage marketing automation and CRM systems to streamline processes and improve reporting.
  • Evaluate and optimize marketing workflows to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and ensure scalable processes across campaigns and lead management.
  • Analyze performance data to measure ROI and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Implement data-driven decision-making to optimize campaign effectiveness.

Content & Creative Development

  • Collaborate with team members to develop compelling creative assets, messaging, and storytelling.
  • Manage digital and print collateral, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Drive innovative marketing ideas to stand out in competitive markets.
  • Design marketing assets primarily in Canva with limited use of Adobe Suite.
  • Video editing and creation preferred but not required.

Events & Conferences

  • Plan, promote, and support marketing efforts at builder conferences and industry events.
  • Oversee and lead execution of Wausau Homes annual builder conference.
  • Manage logistics, messaging, and follow-up campaigns tied to event marketing.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Aptitude in solving problems with a resourceful mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-task, self-directed, flexible environment while maintaining discipline and dependability.
  • Ability to seamlessly bridge across technical and non-technical groups to achieve an aligned outcome.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
  • Strong creative instincts with the ability to translate strategy into compelling campaigns.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and staying focused on results.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing and/or 5+ years of marketing experience with at least 2 years in a team leadership or management role .
  • Proficiency with HubSpot, Salesforce, WordPress or other CRM/automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, website management, social media, and content creation.
  • Proven track record in lead generation and cultivation with measurable results.
  • Proven track record of consistent execution with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience managing events, conferences or tradeshows.
