Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Procurement professional for a direct hire opportunity in Fresno, CA within a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented purchasing and supply chain professional who enjoys managing vendors, analyzing data, optimizing inventory, and supporting cost-effective procurement decisions.
The Buyer/Procurement role will be responsible for managing purchasing activity from order placement through delivery while partnering with internal teams to support inventory availability, supplier performance, compliance requirements, and margin improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process from purchase order placement through delivery, including pricing, terms, lead times, and vendor communication.
- Monitor inventory levels by item to support target inventory turns while helping prevent out-of-stocks and excess inventory.
- Use ERP and MRP system data to support purchasing decisions, analyze demand, and convert large data sets into actionable procurement plans.
- Evaluate domestic and international suppliers, support sourcing decisions, vet potential vendors, and assist with new product sourcing initiatives.
- Optimize landed cost, supply chain efficiency, and gross margin opportunities without disrupting product availability.
- Partner with internal teams to support ISO, IATF, customer requirements, vendor performance documentation, RTVs, chargebacks, quality issues, and on-time delivery tracking.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage purchasing activity, vendor communication, pricing, terms, lead times, and purchase order follow-up.
- Support inventory planning, MRP review, supply chain analysis, and item-level purchasing decisions.
- Participate in sourcing, costing, vendor evaluation, and commercial analysis initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to vendor performance, compliance, quality issues, and supply chain requirements.
- 3+ years of relevant procurement, purchasing, buyer, or supply chain experience.
- Strong understanding of ERP and MRP systems, including common inputs, outputs, planning attributes, and purchasing impacts.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work with large data sets, data structure, data mining, and action-oriented reporting.
- Experience managing pricing, vendor terms, lead times, inventory planning, and supply chain cost considerations.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to evaluate cost, delivery timing, supplier risk, and operational impact.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- 4-year degree or relevant experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience sourcing from both domestic and international suppliers.
- Manufacturing industry purchasing or supply chain experience.
- Familiarity with ISO, IATF, customer compliance requirements, vendor scorecards, chargebacks, RTVs, and supplier quality documentation.
- Experience participating in complex sourcing, strategy, costing, or margin improvement initiatives.
