- It is the policy of Advanced Healthcare Management (A.H.M.) to provide professional hair care services to residents. A beautician or barber shall be contracted by the facility to provide these services.
- A written agreement with a beautician/barber shall stipulate financial arrangements and the terms of the services provided.
PROCEDURE:
- Beauticians and barbers who utilize the shop must display a copy of his/her license on the premises.
- The contracted beautician/barber shall be responsible for the following:
- Providing supplies necessary to perform his/her services
- Cleaning salon instruments and immersing implements for 10 minutes in a disinfectant that shall be changed each day
- Maintaining two electric clippers that are cleaned and disinfected after each us
- Adhering to proper hygiene standards, including, but not limited to:
- Hand-washing prior to and between providing services to each resident
- Using only freshly laundered linens, never reusing between residents
- Protecting the residents skin by placing a towel/paper barrier between skin and cape
- Discarding disposable and single use items after one use
- Disinfecting chairs, countertops and other hard services between residents
- Professional beauticians/barbers must agree to fair pricing with Administration and shall not accept monetary payments from residents.
