Inventory ReceiverPosition OverviewThe Inventory Receiver is responsible for receiving, inspecting and accurately recording incoming shipments to maintain correct stock levels and support timely order fulfillment. This role ensures all received goods are documented in SAP and inventory tracking systems, discrepancies are resolved, and materials are moved to the appropriate storage locations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced with inventory processes and SAP.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage and compliance with purchase orders and packing slips.Verify quantities and product descriptions against purchase orders and delivery documents; report and document any discrepancies or damages.Accurately enter receiving transactions into SAP and/or other inventory tracking systems in a timely manner.Label and move products to designated storage locations, maintaining proper organization and stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO as required).Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and quality teams to resolve shortages, overages, or quality issues.Prepare receiving paperwork and maintain organized records for audits and inventory reconciliation.Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities as needed.Operate material handling equipment safely (e.g., pallet jack, forklift) if certified; maintain a clean and safe receiving area.Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and carriers to schedule and prioritize inbound shipments.Follow standard operating procedures and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline receiving processes.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or logistics training a plus.1+ years of experience in inventory receiving, warehouse operations, or similar role; experience with SAP strongly preferred.Proven knowledge of inventory tracking principles and best practices (FIFO/LIFO, lot/serial tracking, cycle counting).Proficient with SAP or other ERP/WMS systems for recording receipts and updating inventory.Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to identify discrepancies.Good organizational skills, time management, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Ability to lift and move materials up to company-specified limits and work on your feet for extended periods; forklift certification preferred but not required.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
