Shift Lead/Assistant Manager Cannabis Retail Dispensary

TITLE: Cannabis Shift Lead / Assistant Manager San Francisco Dispensary (FullTime)

DESCRIPTION:
Licensed San Francisco cannabis dispensary is hiring a fulltime Shift Lead / Assistant Manager to support daily operations, lead the floor team, handle basic accounting tasks, and ensure full compliance with California DCC and SF Office of Cannabis regulations. This role acts as ManageronDuty during assigned shifts and helps maintain a professional, efficient, and customerfocused retail environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and supervise budtenders during shifts
Open and/or close the store following all security and compliance procedures
Oversee cash handling, register accuracy, and endofday reconciliation
Perform basic accounting tasks: daily cash audits, deposit preparation, shift financial reporting
Support inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and METRCrelated tasks
Ensure compliance with all DCC and SF Office of Cannabis rules
Resolve customer issues professionally
Maintain a clean, organized, safe retail environment
Assist with onboarding and training new team members
Support product intake, labeling, and backofhouse organization
Communicate shift updates and operational issues to management
Deliver a welcoming, knowledgeable customer experience

QUALIFICATIONS:
12+ years of cannabis retail experience preferred
Prior shift lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Basic accounting or cashmanagement experience required
Working knowledge of METRC and cannabis compliance
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
Must be 21+ with valid ID
Must pass all state and local background requirements

YOU MUST HAVE a minimum of, 2 YEARS RETAIL SALES EXPERIENCE and or, CANNABIS DISPENSARY EXPERIENCE!

Budtender Responsibilities:
Advising customers on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis. Work on retail show room floor to assist customers, education them on cannabis products and ring them out.

Good Customer Service Skills

Weekends are required from but not every weekend. Pending on other current individuals scheduled weekends.

Keeping abreast of new cannabis products on the market as well as the latest industry trends through trade shows and research.
Processing customers' payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system.
Ensuring that the dispensary is clean and well-organized at all times.
Educating customers on the safe use of their selected cannabis products.
Correctly restock cannabis products as required.
Checking customers' identification documents to verify that they are of legal age.
Taking inventory of cannabis products and ensuring that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
Perform any duties and tasks as required per manager.
Budtender Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
College is a plus.
Proven experience working as a Budtender highly desirable.
Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Willingness to learn.
Flexibility with work hours

Hand out flyers during special events - required.

This role can be a full time position if you're willing to work between two store locations during the week.
