As a Buyer, your key responsibilities will be to ensure timely purchasing within limited authority and approval levels, prepare and issue purchase orders and requisitions, and conduct price and vendor quote analysis to identify new opportunities and complete initial research of vendors. Critical for success are strong communication skills and the ability to represent Michels Corporation in negotiating contracts, terms, and formulating policies with suppliers. Why Michels? Responsibilities: Prepare and issue purchase orders and requisitions; secure price advantages of quantity buying; compose bid quotations; analyze quotes received; outline performance standards, tolerances, terms, and warranties. Execute contracts up to limits identified by Supply Chain management Conduct price and vendor quote analysis to identify new opportunities and complete initial research of vendors Maintain current and accurate database information: lead times, open purchase orders, quality, and commitments Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers and organizations Interface with other divisions and departments to support order processing, shipping, delivery, and quality Create recommendations on the best vendor of materials and services Qualifications: Bachelors' Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience Computer proficiency Proficiency with using eProcurement or eSourcing tools (desired) Relevant industry experience (desired) A valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record (desired) AA/EOE/M/W/Vet/Disability
