Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk accurately processes incoming and outgoing shipments, manages shipping documentation including international paperwork, and maintains precise inventory records using computer systems. This role also involves loading and unloading trucks using a forklift, supporting kitting activities, and ensuring that all products move through the shipping area efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Load and unload all parts and completed products from trucks and docks using appropriate equipment, including forklifts. Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and descriptions against shipping and manufacturing documentation. Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring all products are properly packaged, labeled, and staged for pickup. Track and maintain all shipment paperwork, including manifests, bills of lading (BOLs), packing lists, and related documents. Process and manage international shipments, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and complete. Use computer systems to enter, update, and track inventory and shipment information in a timely and accurate manner. Support inventory control activities by reconciling physical counts with system records and reporting discrepancies. Assist with kitting tasks by gathering and organizing parts and materials for orders as needed. Read and interpret shipping and manufacturing documentation to ensure correct handling and routing of materials. Work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy, safety, and quality standards in the shipping and receiving area. Collaborate with team members across shifts to ensure smooth handoffs and continuous workflow. Demonstrate consistent dependability by maintaining reliable attendance and following the agreed-upon schedule. Essential Skills Proficiency with computers to enter, track, and manage inventory and shipment information. Experience operating a forklift to safely load and unload trucks. Ability to read and understand shipping and manufacturing documentation. Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation such as manifests, bills of lading, and packing lists. Knowledge of international shipping documentation and processes. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in paperwork, inventory records, and shipments. Dependable work habits with a strong focus on reliability and punctuality. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a shipping and receiving environment. Experience in international shipping operations. Exposure to inventory control practices and procedures. Experience with kitting or assembling orders from multiple components. Comfort working in a shop or warehouse setting with multiple shifts. Why Work Here? There is some flexibility in the schedule, but it will generally follow a consistent pattern to support dependable operations. You will regularly use forklifts and computer systems to manage shipments and inventory. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WEST FARGO, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
