Position Summary Information

Duties

The Maintenance/Shipping and Receiving Clerk position involves independently performing all phases of duties required of an Office Clerk, assisting the Director and Assistant Director of Facilities Operations with all aspects of Facilities Operations and Shipping and Receiving.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists with all areas of Shipping and Receiving, including;

  • Verify the accuracy of packing slips for all incoming parcels at Central Receiving
  • Prepare packaging for freight shipping (weighing, calculating cost, and labeling)
  • Utilize Banner for receiving Purchase Order shipments and authorizing payments of invoices.
  • Perform purchase order/invoice recordkeeping in concert with accounts payable
  • Approve payments and maintain invoice files for all supplies, equipment, and services rendered to the University.
  • Maintain ASU key assignment database
  • Assist in the performance of duties required for the management of the facilities department
  • Comply with all policies of the University.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing work scope and tasks based on need.
  • Actively works toward building cooperative and collaborative relationships with peers and internal faculty and staff.
  • Maintains "open door" to internal and external customers.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements to work practices and offers viable solutions for implementation.
  • Proactively engages in problem-solving related to tasks in this position with internal and external people.
  • Routinely practices self-monitoring by assessing oneself to make improvements or take corrective action to improve performance.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to utilize computer equipment and computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to operate forklift equipment.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting.
  • Must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to lift at least 100 pounds.
  • Frequently tasked with repeating motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Frequently uses near vision when completing tasks such as using computers and reading small print.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to react to change productively.

Salary Band: N120
