What you'll be doing day to day

•At IKEA, we are a very family-friendly retailer, that's why we offer IKEA Smaland, a place for kids to have fun while our customers shop on their own. •As a Childrens Activity Area Associate, you will:

•Contribute to creating a pleasant and safe environment for the children that visit our play facility.

•Register children, monitor and entertain children while in the playroom, and maintain a clean and hygienic environment.

•Participate in the planning and execution of childrens activities both in and outside of Smaland.

•Build meaningful and empathetic relationships with children and their caretakers.

•Strictly adhere to all IKEA play facility and safety & security policy and procedures.

•Support in other areas of the customer experience function as needed, such as cashier and greeter role to provide additional coverage when needed.

• Creates a positive customer experience by ensuring accurate transactions and/or orders. Records information accurately so the resulting analysis can be used to make improvements to customers' future shopping experience.

- Meets customers' needs, solves problems independently, and recognizes when to escalate to a manager.

- Builds loyalty by ensuring a positive customer journey during the IKEA shopping experience.

- Builds emotional connections through meaningful and empathetic interactions with customers.

- Provides customers with a simple and efficient handout experience when scheduled in Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO). Offers and sells services to customers during the handover process when needed.

- Provides the customer with a simple and smooth returns and exchange experience, while collecting high quality data for follow-up when scheduled in returns.

As a Retail Carts Co-worker ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers, you will:

• Provide friendly and efficient car loading and/or unloading services while keeping the loading zone clean by clearing away straps, excess carts, and cardboard.

• Ensure that all physical shopping tools, including carts, pencils, yellow bags, maps, and twine, are adequately stocked and maintained throughout the store during business hours.

• Ensure physical shopping tool are filled at closing.

• Monitor the condition of physical and digital shopping tools, report any IT issues, and remove any physical stands or tools that are unsafe.

• Address customer needs, resolve issues independently, escalate matters to a manager when needed.

• Support in other customer service areas such as Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), Exchanges & Returns, Click & Collect as needed.

• When supporting in Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), provide customers with a simple and efficient handout experience.

• When supporting in Returns, ensure products and equipment are properly staged.

• When supporting Click & Collect, create a positive customer experience by ensuring accurate order handoff.

• Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers

The hourly pay rate for this position is $17.50.
