Buyer / Coordinator

Location: Waterford

Pay: $22.00–$25.00 per hour DOE

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Type: Full-Time

A growing company in the marine industry is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Buyer / Coordinator to support purchasing operations, inventory management, and product lifecycle coordination. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with buying, merchandising, or business analysis experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment.

Responsibilities



    	

  • Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and supplier metrics to support strategic buying decisions

    	

  • Create and manage purchase orders based on demand forecasts, sales trends, and promotional activity

    	

  • Follow up with vendors regarding order status, lead times, backorders, and delivery schedules

    	

  • Support product transitions including new and discontinued SKUs

    	

  • Collaborate with Category Managers to align purchasing with product life cycles and business goals

    	

  • Assist with vendor program tracking, pricing files, MAP/MRP policies, and related documentation

    	

  • Support product research, merchandising, and website content updates

    	

  • Assist with additional projects and operational support as needed



Qualifications



    	

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred

    	

  • 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, merchandising, buying support, or business analysis

    	

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

    	

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and nested IF formulas

    	

  • Ability to interpret sales and inventory data to support business decisions

    	

  • Experience working in eCommerce, retail, distribution, or supply chain environments preferred

    	

  • SQL knowledge is a plus

    	

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

This position is based in a professional office environment within the marine sales industry. The role involves significant computer use, data analysis, and communication with vendors and internal teams in a collaborative but self-directed setting.
