Come grow with us … North American Stamping is expanding and looking to hire. We are looking for an experienced Day Shift Team Leader for our Welding Machine Operator department on 1st shift at our TNN2 facility in Portland, TN.

The Quality Specialist reports to the Quality Manager or designate. This position is to perform primarily office and non-manual quality functions designed to service Production through consultation and oversight. Responsibilities include general quality operations including the creating and maintenance of quality and engineering documentation. The Quality Specialist conducts CMM operation and part verification in compliance with applicable Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, and maintenance of gage procurement and calibration system.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Weld Team Leader supports the Group Leader with ensuring that their employees safely and efficiently operate robotic welding machine cells to produce finished parts. The primary focus being on Safety, Quality, and efficient production techniques by utilizing NASG standards and procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. Provide direct leadership and instruction to Weld Machine Operators. B. Train new employees in the department. C. Is proficient with all Weld Machine Operator duties. D. Effectively communicate with the support departments for proper scheduling of Weld Department production E. Coordinate maintenance activities as needed with support departments. F. Operate welder equipment as required - including any auxiliary equipment. G. Pack/EPC product as it is produced from the press (If applicable) H. Complete required Production documentation: including Downtime, Production, Quality, 5-S, and TPM. I. Hourly update of Production Tracking Log and Lean Board. J. Part Inspection per Inspection Instructions: This includes visual inspections, & associated measurements per print & at specified intervals. K. Final visual audit inspection and sort, fill, package and palletize all parts to packaging specifications before they are put into stock or shipped. L. Follow Containment Checklist procedures in the event of contaminated product. M. Production tagging/labeling to maintain inventory accuracies. N. Verify Production schedule using the ShopEdge system. O. Maintain all tools in proper places. P. Report all Quality, Production or Safety problems to the Group Leader. Q. Perform & maintain 5-S Standards in area of responsibility. R. Perform Preventive Maintenance. activities are completed as required. S. Write & follow-up on Work Orders as needed for repairs in assigned area. T. Suggest methods of improvement, (i.e. Continuous Improvement Plan & Performance Award Program). U. Available for overtime as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• High school diploma or GED - Minimum • Basic computer skills • Demonstrated basic math skills Experience:
• 2 Years of Manufacturing experience. Previous experience operating automated welding equipment preferred. • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills Personal/Technical Skills:
• Ability to work with a dynamic and demanding team. • Accurate, efficient, & proactive in daily duties. • Ability to conduct basic maintenance or mechanical activities as required. • Ability to work at a fast pace. • Accountable - Teachable - Approachable • Ability to learn, make decisions, and be creative & flexible. • Ability to problem solve. Computer/Software:
• Demonstrated basic computer skills.
