Position Description

Manager, Procurement

JOB SUMMARY

This role oversees the procurement of goods and services, acting as a crucial safeguard for company budget and operational efficiency. They build supplier relationships, manage supply chain risks and implement cost-effective strategies.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchasing

Negotiate preferred pricing and maintain price lists for accurate quoting

Maintain current knowledge of prices and trends and availability of new products/sources

Coordinate with Engineering, the testing of potential product offerings

Document and track manufacturer rebate funds and compile detailed reporting highlighting spend and rebate figures for partners in the preferred program

Procure products in standardized suite for stock for availability and usage in designs and quotes

Develop relationships with key manufacturers, suppliers and partners for pricing, purchasing, discounts, delivery, credit terms and rebates

Collaborate with other departments to ensure overall success of high-profile and large dollar value project by performing high level product cost and payment term negotiations as necessary to minimize total procurement cost

Develop close working relationships with Finance and Sales to analyze forecasts to make procurement decisions that meet operational and financial targets delivering the necessary support to Engineering and Project Management

Coordinate and manage relationships between Sales and Vendors to drive additional margins on products for individual clients.

Prepares the departmental budget; reviews monthly financial reports for compliance with budget

Responsible for the management and training of Order Management Specialists and other department support as needed and required

Directs the daily workflow and schedules of the department, coordinating staff involved in purchasing, selling, and distributing supplies, machinery, materials, or equipment

Drafts and/or reviews supply and service specifications

Evaluates bids, ensuring compliance with departmental and company policies and procedures

Distributes purchasing information to involved parties including vendors, sales representatives, and employees

Reviews and evaluates purchase request forms for accuracy and completeness.

Gathers, records, and completes purchase data

Logistics

Performs regular audits and inventory management exercises to ensure system accuracy/troubleshoot issues/identify potential theft or mismanagement

Responsible for the management and training of Logistics Supervisors and other department support as needed and required

Monitor tracking and reporting of shipping information by Logistics staff ensuring adherence to accurate and timely delivery expectations

MISC material procurement, tracking and measuring to budget

Ensure RMA process to completion with tracking and diligence of the transaction being completed managing Order Management and Logistics responsibilities

Logistics planning/modeling

Ensure physical warehouse spaces are maintained in accordance with IVCi standards to ensure receiving and shipping accuracy and efficiencies as well as employee safety

Performs other related duties as assigned and required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience

REQUIRED SKILLS

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to maintain reports, records, and budgets
