Their Brampton facility is a hub for innovation, focusing on precision-engineered componentsincluding passive and semi-active dampers and hydro-pneumatic strutsfor the military, construction, and forestry sectors.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientated Purchasing Supervisor to join and lead our procurement team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services while maintaining strict compliance with established group procurement policies and procedures. This position demands a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of supply chain and procurement processes, coupled with the ability to enforce governance standards, promote transparency, and drive alignment with group-wide procurement rules.

Responsibilities
Procurement Management: Source, negotiate, and procure materials, components and services in accordance with project requirements, ensuring compliance to specification and defence regulations.
Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering partnerships that ensure the reliability, quality and competitiveness of our supply base.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing with suppliers to secure best possible agreements while mitigating risks and ensuring adherence to budget.
Supply Chain Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve the supply chain processes, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements and risk mitigation.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing and availability of materials and components
Compliance: Ensuring all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, compliance to Governmental, local and global company policies whilst maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Cost Estimation, Quality Assurance, Group Purchasing, Global Commodity Management and other teams to align procurement strategies with project goals and timelines.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring continuity and reliable supply
Team Supervision: Act as the day-to-day point of guidance for 12 Buyers and a Cost Estimator.
Support the Director of Operations in assigning workload and identifying staffing or skill gaps.
Understand principals of estimating and be able to supervise individuals in estimating.

Qualifications
Note: Due to the nature of our work, candidates must be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada to successfully clear the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements.
Effective communicator in English, both oral and written
Minimum 10 -15 years of relevant industry experience as well as demonstrated supervisory ability to lead a team of skilled individuals.
Certifications such as MCIPS, CPSM, CPM, or CPIM, or equivalent professional qualifications combined with demonstrable experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing leadership roles
Experience in manufacturing purchasing and/or inventory management.
Ability to travel internationally
Holds a valid Driving Licence
Holds security clearance or the ability to obtain
Experience in a small-business environment where cross-functional coordination is critical.
In depth understanding of VISUAL ERP
Familiarity with manufacturing operations, configuration management, and quality systems (AS9100, ISO, etc.).
