Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Buyer to join a dynamic supply chain team supporting a high-performance manufacturing environment. This individual will play a critical role in managing supplier relationships, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring material availability to support production and customer commitments. This is a fully on-site position.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end supplier engagement, including supplier selection, RFQ/RFP processes, and negotiation of cost, delivery schedules, and lead times
- Own procurement activities for assigned commodities or programs, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery objectives
- Lead supplier performance management, including PO execution, change management, and ongoing supplier accountability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, operations, engineering, quality, and program management teams to meet business objectives
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to monitor demand signals, identify risks, and proactively mitigate supply chain disruptions
- Drive supplier performance improvements through regular scorecards, quarterly business reviews, and corrective action plans
- Analyze MRP exception messages, PO status, and action reports to ensure continuity of supply
- Identify and qualify alternate or secondary suppliers, including solutions for obsolete components
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within ERP systems
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and operational procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cost reduction, inventory optimization, and supplier consolidation
- Handle hazardous materials in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of buying to support the aerospace and defense industries
- Strong understanding of supplier management and procurement processes
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process flow diagrams
- Well-versed in using Microsoft Excel daily
- Ability to work on-site in Huntsville, AR
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred
- Consistent achievement of cost reduction targets and budget adherence

- High level of data accuracy and system integrity
