Student Hourly/Development and Marketing Intern
Position Overview
Audio-Reader, an audio information service for individuals who are blind, visually impaired and print-disabled, is hiring a development and marketing intern to assist with fundraising, event planning, donor stewardship, content creation, and marketing.
Job Description
60% - Development
Stewardship (thank you calls, notes and dropping off gifts to donors).
Help plan and implement fundraisers.
Solicit prizes for Audio-Reader's golf tournament and other events.
Create written and online content for various campaigns.
Help plan engagement opportunities.
30% - Marketing
Social media - create content and take pictures at events.
Help plan, set up, and work events.
Help create written and online content.
10% - Other Duties
Help at the Audio-Reader/KPR front desk.
Help prepare mailings.
Administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software products, as evidenced by application materials.
Strong attention to detail, as evidenced in application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in an administrative/office setting, as evidenced by application materials.
Previous experience in development and fundraising, as evidenced by application materials.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent audio editing software, as evidenced by application materials.
Exceptional customer service skills, as evidenced by application materials.
Position Requirements
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Employment Conditions
(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
(3) Applicant must have consistent availability to work at least three partial days per week during regular business hours (M-F 8am-5pm).
