Job Description
POSITION: Food Services Cashier
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: As Set by the Board of School Trustees
Hours M-F 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
SALARY: As Set by the Board of School Trustees
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: Sound behavior management skills.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Food Services
EVALUATED BY: Director of Food Services
Essential Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned
General
a. Stocks ala-carte food items on the serving line (high school and middle school).
b. Operates the Meals Plus point of sales system.
c. Receives money for deposit.
d. Cleans and sanitizes tables in the cafeteria between lunch lines.
e. Washes and sanitizes serving counter between lunch lines.
f. Fills plastic ware containers between lines.
g. Re-stocks ala-carte items between lunch lines.
h. Counts cash drawer at the end of the day.
i. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
j. Understands and carries out oral and written instructions.
k. Communicates effectively in both oral and written form.
l. Reports to the Food Services Manager for further duties.
Student Management Skill
a. Is consistent and fair in dealing with students.
b. Promotes a warm, open, and accepting climate.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The ability to compute rate, ratio / percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. The ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. The ability to perform duties with the awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education Policies.
