UPMC Western Maryland is searching for a Food Service Cashier! This position will work as a cashier and also will be trained on working with the Salad Bar, Home Zone, Grab 'n' Go, and Grill. This is a full-time flex position, meaning the employee will work at least 28 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week based on department need.
Shifts may consist of:
- 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
- 11:00 pm to 7:30 pm
- 8:30 am to 5:00 pm every other weekend
This position is responsible for accurately registering all sales of retail customers while maintaining security of all monies in and around the cash registers through the work shift
Responsibilities:
- Maintains work areas in clean and orderly condition according to HACCP guidelines.
- Collects money from cash customers and returns change accurately in accordance with established cash handling procedures
- Sets up cashier's station at beginning of shift and maintains funds appropriately throughout shift
- Records miscellaneous non-monetary purchases accurately
- Ensures food products are charged accurately by consistently checking the portion sizes and verify contents according to department procedure. Notifies supervisor/manager of any portion discrepancies immediately
