We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join as a Principal Supply Chain Manager (SCM) in our 1P Reverse Logistics Expansion & Integration team.
Key job responsibilities
The Returns Optimization SCM works across the organization in a cross-functional environment with Planning teams, Applied Science teams, and Tech teams to define the needs, goals, and execution plans to grow a world class logistics network. They maintain and report up to date and accurate statistics, management reports, and analysis. They facilitate the flow of information between different stakeholders and resolves any potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. The SCM also works with operations leadership to identify waste and continuously improve processes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicate requirements and strict timelines to stakeholders.
- Model optimal network design minimizing for cost given business goals and constraints.
- Define metrics to measure transportation performance and drive continuous improvement by identifying ways to streamline processes and reduce non-value added work.
- Systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure that they are delivered.
- Communicate with internal customers (Operations, Product, Finance, Tech).
- Problem solve and design solutions for Amazon's transportation network, support large scale transportation programs.
- Create/maintain/update internal documentation for reporting, training, or reference.

A principal supply chain manager operates in an ambiguous environment. We're building something brand new and so they will balance between big thinking and tactical execution. This will require direct analyses and partnering with stakeholders across Amazon.

- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 7+ years of working cross functionally across several teams experience
- 10+ years of supply chain experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
