The Position
The Inventory Coordinator is part of our Development and Community Engagement (DevCo) team, a talented, creative, and driven group of fundraisers focused on furthering the agencys mission and values. The Inventory Coordinator supports our mission of transitioning people out of homelessness and poverty by receiving and cataloging goods, food, supplies and equipment procured through purchasing or in-kind donations and stored at LAFHs storage warehouse (Snoopy) and coordinating the distribution of these items for use by program sites and agency operations. This position works with corporations, community groups, and individuals to receive donated and purchased goods, and collaborates with Programs and Operations management and staff on distribution.
What You'll Do
- Organize and maintain Snoopy, LAFHs storage warehouse located across the street from the main LAFH Campus. Ensure cleanliness, safety, and efficient storage practices.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, ladders, pallet shelving, rolling carts, lift gates, etc. and maintain safe use and best practices with all warehouse equipment.
- Keep track of equipment storage and report equipment or facility maintenance issues through the appropriate channels.
- Work with the In-Kind Donations Supervisor and Community Engagement Manager of In-Kind Donations to coordinate receiving and distribution logistics. Follow digital calendar instructions to ensure timely and accurate receipt and delivery of donated and purchased goods.
- Act as a key liaison between the In-Kind team, program staff, and delivery personnel. Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries with designated team contacts and assist staff during scheduled warehouse access hours.
- Sort and assemble purchased and donated goods for delivery including bulk orders.
- Support ongoing Community Engagement programs such as Welcome Home Kit assemblies and event-based donation drives.
- Lead and support volunteers focused on sorting, organizing, and assembling goods during scheduled warehouse shifts. Assign and oversee tasks to ensure volunteers productive use of time and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory using Salesforce and other digital systems. Physically manage and label stock to ensure clear visibility of quantities, locations, and available goods.
- Greet and support donors/partners during donation drop-offs and represent LAFH professionally as a point of contact on-site.
- Attend regular meetings with program leads and the Community Engagement team to assess current inventory, forecast needs, and strategize procurement priorities.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
What You're Skilled At
- Warehouse and/or Inventory Management experience
- Must be able to perform electronic data entry
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Knowledge of issues related to homelessness.
- Capable of working with diverse populations, including those with high acuity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and creative problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Must be timely, dependable, and adhere to agency policies.
Other
- Obtain and maintains CPR/First Aid Certification
- Ability to pass post-offer Tuberculosis (TB) clearances
- Travel is a partial duty for this position and is required 10% of the time
- Use of a personal vehicle to travel between worksites and other locations is required while adhering to fleet safety protocols.
- Must have and maintain a valid California Drivers License and auto insurance in good standing
- Ability to work a 9/80 work schedule with flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
Experience
- Position requires a minimum of an Associate degree with two years of work experience in distribution, sales, customer service, or equivalent
- 1 year experience in warehouse management required
- Experience training and mentoring staff and/or volunteers preferred
- Experience working at a non-profit preferred
