Position Summary:

The Director, Merchandising Strategic Growth & Segmentation leads BJs strategic merchandising initiatives, ensuring vendor investment, promotional execution, segmentation strategies, and operational efficiency. This role partners with Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, Space Planning, and Operations to optimize merchandising spaces, drive segmentation-driven decisions, and enhance vendor monetization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Investment & Promotional Strategy:
    • Develop and execute vendor funding plans to maximize investment opportunities.
    • Lead High-Value Space (HVS) and promotional events, optimizing profitability and member experience.
    • Identify and implement new revenue opportunities with vendor partners.
  • Merchandising Segmentation & Execution:
    • Oversee segmentation strategies, ensuring club-level merchandising aligns with market and member insights.
    • Manage new market entry strategies and regional merchandising plans.
    • Continuously refine segmentation models based on performance data.
  • Operational Efficiency & Process Management:
    • Lead operational planning for New Clubs, Remodels, and Category Management Processes (CMPs).
    • Oversee merchandising workflows to ensure on-time execution and cross-functional alignment.
    • Improve tracking systems and eliminate bottlenecks in execution processes.
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Develop and lead a high-performing team across Merchandising Growth Strategies, Segmentation, and Operations.
    • Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and Space Planning to execute strategic initiatives.
    • Drive innovation through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business, Merchandising, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in merchandising, retail strategy, or vendor investment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in vendor negotiations, promotional strategy, and merchandising analytics.
  • Ability to execute complex, high-impact initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJs Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $145,500.00.
