Due to Company Growth we are looking for Strong hands-on District Managers. - DISTRICT MANAGER - New Orleans, LA Job Description: Provides general supervision to a district of 7-10 retail stores with the objective of aiding the growth of sales and profitability of individual stores by providing guidance and training to Store Managers. Travel is required. Primary Responsibilities: Increase stores sales monthly over previous year, striving to attain sales plan for each store. Oversee the efficient and effective operation of assigned stores. Primarily responsible for achieving or exceeding annual budget for sales, profit, payroll, gross margin, etc. in these stores. Review and analyze financial reports with supervisor as well as Store Managers. Train and develop Store Managers to increase business. Conduct store visits on a weekly basis and document visits using company provided tools. Report those results back to the corporate office. Conduct store audits, as outlined by the corporate office, and review the results with the Store Manager along with the corporate office. Evaluate Store Management?s performance. Report those evaluations to the corporate office and make recommendations regarding retention, transfer, demotion, promotion, dismissal, or any progressive action, which will improve Evaluate all other non-managerial associates in the stores and make recommendations regarding training, retention, promotion, dismissal, etc. Train and develop current Store Managers as well as new hires and coordinate such efforts throughout the region with designated trainers. Interview applicants for managerial positions within the region. This includes recruiting, interviewing, reference checks, credit history verification, making offers, and coordination with Corporate Human Resources. Perform as a substitute Store Manager during emergency absences of store managers if so needed. Make recommendations of any changes in store operations, merchandising, etc. in order to stay competitive. Advise the corporate office of any merchandise needs in the stores. Perform special projects as assigned. Winn-Dixie Pharmacy Procedures  Job Description of the Pharmacy District Manager JOB TITLE:Pharmacy District Manager RESPONSIBLE TO: Regional Pharmacy Operations Manager  JOB PURPOSE: Managed the Prescription Department operations in pharmacies assigned by Pharmacy Management, be knowledgeable in all areas of operation of the prescription departments, including sales, inventory, and profitability of the department.Keep current with the trends of pharmacy in the territory including regulatory and legal requirements.  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1)Recruitment and training of pharmacist and pharmacy technicians2)Attend career days at area colleges 3)Responsible for proper staffing and opening of pharmacy department; be knowledgeable of PDX and be the first “call” for pharmacy associates.20)Represent Winn-Dixie Pharmacy at any regulatory hearings or Board of Pharmacy meetings21)Participate in weekly pharmacy conference calls with management22)Audit each pharmacy once a year for regulatory compliance and Winn-Dixie Standards23)Audit pharmacies for HIPPA compliance24)Audit pharmacies for compliance on DEA regulation25)Setting up and coordinating CE programs RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES: Personnel Duties Pharmacists recruitment in cooperation with the COM, perform recruiting functions, ads, campus relations and area surveys of competitors.Pharmacists' induction – meet with new pharmacists and review personnel programs.Coordinate personnel policies and procedures with the Grocery Merchandiser and corporate personnel staff.Liaison with competitors professional personnel representative in regard to salaries, benefits, man-power surveys, etc.Coordinate the personnel aspects of continuing education requirements. Indoctrination of all new pharmacists and pharmacy technicians into our:A)PDX – prescription systemB)DSD – direct store delivery and EDIC)DAW codesD)Perpetual inventory/buying and ordering proceduresE)3rd PartiesF)ReturnsG)Cashier trainingH)Inventory controlI)General pharmacy appearanceJ)Dress CodeK)Record keepingL)WDX New Pharmacies Responsible for setting up of all new Prescription Departments opening in the assigned territories which will include the opening inventories, assisting with the hiring of new pharmacists, physical set up of the new pharmacies and computer training.Assist in getting the store ready to open including coordination of all permits and licenses for the Prescription Department. Closed Pharmacies Supervise the closing of Prescription Departments making sure that the perishables and close-dated items are transferred to existing stores.Packing of pharmaceuticals and equipment so that it arrives at its new destination in proper order.Coordinate all permits and licenses pertinent to the closing. Complaints and Regulatory Issues Be responsible to investigate any complaints concerning the departments whether they come from doctors, regulatory agencies, third parties, etc.A report must be written up on any investigation. Be responsible for seeing that all city, state, and federal regulations regarding the Prescription Department are being properly maintained. Inventory Control the Prescription Department inventories by providing instructions in the purchasing of pharmaceuticals, returns, and outdated merchandise, monitor inventory reorder levels. Pricing Provide feedback to HDQ regarding the prescription pricing in the stores as set down by management. Third Party Be responsible to assist the stores in the proper handling of all third party programs which would include the proper billing procedures and the handling of reject claim forms. Provide feedback to HDQ regarding any changes in third parties or prospects of new third parties. Promotions/Increasing Sales Be responsible wherever possible for the detailing of doctors.Specific information should be given to doctors telling them of our policies and ethical procedures.In addition, discuss our methods of prescription pricing and provide any other information that will aid the doctor-store relationship.  Work with the Pharmacy BDM to develop promotions and improve prescription sales and profits.   REPORTS AND RECORDS: Assist in the evaluation process for pharmacist. Perform a random unannounced audit on drugs.This is the same format that is used by our internal auditors.Records should be kept of those audits. Make sure that the annual inventory as required by state and federal laws are performed properly and a copy is retained in Division office. On all visits to the prescription departments, a summary of what has been accomplished or discussed will be prepared as directed by the Grocery Merchandiser. Work with Location Manager to provide a secure location to store records.  ACCOUNTABILITY FACTORS AND APPRAISING: In appraising the performance, the COM will consider the following factors: 1)The quality and character of your relationship with the corporate pharmacy staff, division management and store operations personnel.2)The effectiveness of communications of company policies and programs.3)The degree of understanding and development of prescription department operations and coordination of overall activities.
