Mission: Direct Maverik's strategic procurement focus to optimize the ROI of purchased products, resources, and services. Responsibilities: Establish strategic sourcing, inventory and vendor management systems and processes which identify the right suppliers, result in a lower cost of goods and services, achieve optimal inventory levels and proactively drive vendor performance while achieving all merchandising, supply chain/logistics and retail operations business objectives and Maverik's business plan. Performance Expectations: Operate in a matrix organizational structure providing procurement expertise to: Identify, capture and leverage company-wide purchasing opportunities Develop procurement systems & processes Define required resources Lead development of action plans to achieve performance objectives Track impact of actions on performance Drive continuous improvement Develop procurement operations budget that supports company business plans and deliver performance within budget Manage Vendors: Develop, communicate, and implement the company's vision and tactical execution of strategic sourcing and procurement business processes with internal and external strategic partners Establish collaborative relationships with and between key vendor partners Capture vendor consolidation opportunities Oversee vendor performance via agreed metrics Manage performance of Maverik's main centralized supplier Strategic Sourcing: Identify & forecast needs for procurement services and determine the timing, nature, quantities, and priorities of things to be procured Develop specification processes for customers Qualify all Maverik vendors Manage costs Manage bidding and requests for proposals Negotiate with vendors Manage direct purchasing Lead "green" procurement activities Manage Inventories: Optimize demand planning Optimize inventory levels Optimize replenishment and ordering processes Build and lead procurement team: Work in an integrated way with internal groups to achieve procurement objectives that enable the achievement of both group and company performance objectives Capture and develop the talent, performance and potential of procurement team members Requirements: Minimum of five years strategic sourcing and procurement (Big Box Retail, Grocery, or C-store) experience preferred. Bachelor or Masters Degree in business or equivalent financial and analytical experience Extensive contract negotiation experience Relocation: Partial moving expense assistance Salary Range: $80,000 to $100,000 plus bonus Begin Your Employment Adventure!
