Using a holistic approach, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for project initiation and planning through the project lifecycle including overseeing development, testing, implementation, change management and closeout.Essential Functions/Responsibilities:· Facilitates high level project requirements analysis, including defining Business Requirements and objectives.· Manages the creation of functional specification and design documents, and solution architecture diagrams. · Leads due diligence activities, including assessment of appropriate technologies, solution designs, vendor selections and audit and regulatory compliance.· Develops detailed project schedules and milestones based on business objectives and timing requirements. · Develops detailed project budgets based on estimated human resource requirements (and associated burden costs), capital expenditures, and recurring and non-recurring expenses.· Assists in determining appropriate project team structures, and facilitates the formation, and ongoing management of project teams under resource-constrained circumstances.· Tracks project activity and expenditures against plans, develops and manages project status documentation and communication as required.· Continuously assesses project risk factors and recommends appropriate courses of action to mitigate risk. · Coordinates any required functional testing, load/stress testing, quality assurance testing and scheduling of production launches.· Manages project documentation, communications, meetings, and required meeting follow up.· Leads in the sourcing and managing of external delivery partners where required.· Facilitates collaboration across the organization and disparate functions.Specific Job Skills:· Strong communication, collaboration, coaching and problem solving skills needed.· Ability to work from an organizational perspective.· Ability to work as a contributing, collaborative team member, with few ego needs.· Excellent listening skills and a commitment to communicate clearly, completely and in a timely manner.· Exceptional skills in partnering with clients/staff and in developing and maintaining long term supportive relationships. · Ability to organize time effectively, determine priorities and move work forward.· Ability to identify barriers to progress and propose solutions.· Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member.· Willingness to accept coaching to remove barriers to effective working relationships.· Critical level of attention to detail. A component of this initiative revolves around a three year retail ERP and Business Intelligence (BI) program chartered for driving innovation in retail processes and information management. The BI program deliverables include consistent performance indicators (KPIs) for retail performance management, management reporting for line level KPIs and a facility for dynamic and flexible analytics.As aSenior Project Manager on the Retail Business Intelligence team, youll be heavily involved in the Strategic Reset initiatives and initially focused on the Merchandising and BI projects.Youll partner withbusiness stakeholdersto define project goals, scope, approach, budget, risk mitigation plan and communications strategy; align business processes across multiple stakeholder groups; and facilitate the creation and execution of project plans.Youll also direct the project-related tasks and milestones for a cross-functional team of business and IT professionals.In addition, youll work closely with our Project Management Center of Excellence to utilize consistent and standard processes across the Project Management Community and Lean Business Solutions.
