The Project Manager may act alone or is expected to lead a team or a definable segment of a larger project. The Project The Project Manager ensures projects meet established time, cost and technical objectives. The Project Manager develops and manages the project'''s change control procedures and effectively utilizes all available methodologies and tools, culminating in client acceptance of results. The Project Manager conducts project progress reviews with client and account team personnel, providing contingency and problem resolution plans as required. The Technical Project Manager will mostly be on-site with the customer and will track software issues and work with internal NCR groups for final resolution and delivery to the customer. Key Areas of Responsibility * Scopes engagements/projects * Track Software Issues * Identifies project risks * Develops project plan * Defines goals and objectives * Identifies client requirements * Identifies resource requirements * Translates client business requirements into specific deliverables * Contributes to the pre-sales effort with preliminary cost estimating, project planning, and risk assessment * Communicates project status * Produces project documentation * Monitors and controls project * Manages the work of NCR resources, subcontractor personnel, and clients * Performs project status reviews * Maintains/expands client relationship * Ensures client expectations are met/exceeded * Establishes client follow-up/monitor process * Conducts final project team review/critique Basic Requirements * Bachelor Degree * 5-10 years experience in Information Technology (or equivalent) * Retail experience a plus * Consulting experience Preferred Requirements * PMI - Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certification * NCR Internal Project Management Certification Communication * Facilitates team and client meetings effectively. * Holds regular status meetings with project team. * Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news. * Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors. * Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations. * Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion. * Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Technical Understanding * Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design. * Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures. * Possesses a thorough understanding of our capabilities. * Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements. Client Management * Manages day-to-day client interaction. * Sets and manages client expectations. * Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties. * Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. * Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships. * Builds a knowledge base of each client'''s business, organization and objectives.
