Description:
This position contributes to the overall success of Coldwater Creek by contributing to the selection and merchandising of retail products. This is achieved by analyzing historical sales information, current trends and competitive information, validating target customer wants and needs and developing a collection of products through the selection of compelling color, print, pattern, fit, style, fabrications, price and promotional strategies. Essential Functions: Ensure Coldwater Creek quality and brand integrity. Review final product assortment details to ensure accuracy and integrity of information. Identify errors and changes. Communicate changes to product developers, inventory planning, advertising and database as needed. Partner with the retail analysts to direct and create a comprehensive line plan to include balance of key item drivers and novelty pieces with core product and seasonal mix. Work with the Visual team to influence and execute floor set strategy for all retail flows. Partner with Product Development to discuss trends and product needs in the preseason planning phase. Identify new business opportunities and determine ways to maximize current stores sales, develop and adjust line plans and execute all changes as needed. Contribute to consumer focus groups and customer analysis in collaboration with Marketing. Review data and analyze trends and patterns. Incorporate information into selection process. The ability to lead and develop a strong team that is capable of selecting and merchandising brand-compelling products. Position Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience merchandising women's apparel at the management level Exhibited career progression within the apparel industry to manager level Proven ability to drive sales and manage an apparel category for maximum profitability Must be an independent thinker and have problem solving abilities Strong analytical skills Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Strong computer skills especially in MicrosoftWord and Excel Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environment Coldwater Creek is an Equal Opportunity Employer
