The resulting plan needs to tie to the strawman targets in order to hit the company's expectations. OTB Checkbook The checkbook needs to be maintained to show the active PO's versus the gross receipt plan for a month. Any activity above the plan must have the approved sign-off of the planner, including rolls and incremental. Any incremental receipts need to have financial support to obtain sign-off. The planner should review outstanding PO's to see if there is anything that can be cancelled to make room for incremental receipts. Open to Buy Partner with the buyer in the open to buy process. Develop monthly sales projections which are shared with the buyer prior to the start of the open to buy. Analyze department trends and make recommendations on opportunities and liabilities. Identify where we need to chase the trend and where we need to be getting out of merchandise or marking down. Analysis On-going analysis at the topside on the department level. Developing strategies on slow selling departments for RTV's and VA. Drilling down to the store level on departments with issues to understand if it is a store specific problem. If it is store specific issue, furnish the buying line with recommendations on transfers and/or re-allocation.
