Performs all functions related to cheese and specialty item preparation, counter service sanitation, and stocking of products. Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient Customer Service. Responsibilities & Qualifications Principle Duties and Responsibilities   All duties and responsibilities of Specialty Service TM. Extensive product knowledge. Purchases Cheese for department Process invoices and returns. Responsible for achieving and exceeding margin and sales targets. Must strive to receive TCS score of 9.0 or better. Requests, understands and insures proper signage and insure proper signs for all sales items. Participate and supports regional promotions and store specialty programs. Prepare and maintain organized, clean and appealing active and passive demos. Controls spoilage generate turn movement; and participates in monthly inventory. Comply with all FDA regulations. Comply with all applicable State and Federal Health and Safety codes. Follow established Weights and Measures procedures (tares). Maintain safe and organized backstock cooler and warehouse. Effectively receives and stores all products. Assist and executes merchandising skills on case stacks, cases and all displays. Trains and educates new Team Members. Continually practices suggestive selling techniques. Organize, stock, and rotate while continuously checking and insuring freshness, presentation and quality of products. Prepare waste and as needed and remove waste product from sales floor. Maintain and continually clean and keep department organized. Immediately clean spills. Respond to all Specialty pages quickly and efficiently. Provide Outstanding Customer Service and accurately answer all customer questions. Perform other duties, as assigned by Team Leader, supervisor or store leadership. Knowledge, skills and abilities required 1-2 years or equivalent experience in specialty foods and/or buying. Extensive cheese knowledge in cutting, production, and taste. Capable of teaching others in a constructive manner. Understand margins, pricing, labor and profitability. Understand Plu's and UPC codes. Ability to work well and communicate with others as a part of a team. Computer skills are necessary. Ability to perform physical requirements of positions which requires a great deal of lifting and stacking of boxes and repetitive cutting of cheeses. Willingness to taste and evaluate all products offered in department. Ability to learn proper use of baler (must be 18 years of age or older), slicer, heat wrap, pasta cutter machine, knifes and all other equipment used during food preparation and clean up. Understand the importance of all waste, spoilage and transfer to department.
