Buyer will be aware of timely trends in the marketplace via tradeshows, trade publication and competitive shopping to develop new exclusive products via domestic and international sources. The buyer will analyze product selling trends in all MSG venues and maximize sales revenue via in stock position, improved stocks based on larger buys and seek related products in the category to capitalize on the trend. The buyer will communicate and take action on a regular basis with all MSG divisions to support merchandise objectives. Additionally, the buyer will work with the Director Retail to develop floor plans for all MSG retail locations and to ensure that the stores are adequately stocked with appropriate merchandise. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 – 6 years experience in traditional retail buying. Experience within gift, apparel, and/or accessories is a plus. Experience with product development, ideally in overseas, direct sourcing is preferred. Candidates interested in sports and entertainment preferred. Candidate must possess strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, unpredictable environment. Financially oriented; must have advanced knowledge of all retail math/language and strong negotiation skills to achieve costs needed to ensure profit margins are met.
