Job Title: Buyer Company: Pool Corporation Location: Covington, LA Description: POOLCORP currently needs an experienced BUYER for its Covington, LA headquarters to support theSourcing Director with the analysis and negotiations of various offers of retailitems as well as assisting with the research of specifications and current pricing for various products in multiple markets. Responsibilities will include: Research current volume of purchases by item; Identify opportunities to consolidate item purchases; Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors'; Write up requests for proposals; Analyze, summarize and evaluate supplier's offers; Perform price vs. feature analysis of various items; Set initial sell price for new items for approval by management; Assist Sales & Marketing with the production of brochures and price sheets; Act as a liaison between suppliers and the sales locations with product information, quality and /or specification issues; Insure the proper implementation of replenishment for new items. Job Requirements : The ideal candidate will have: Five to ten years of purchasing/merchandising retail product experience; A college degree Business Administration or Industrial Engineering preferred; Proficient with MS Software, specifically, WORD and EXCEL; ISM training and/or certification desired; International purchasing experience preferred; Ability to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines; Ability to travel on occasion domestically and/or internationally.
