Job Title: BUYERS / APPAREL Company: MRINetwork Location: Stamford, CT Description: Our client, a major international specialty retailer in the suburban New York Metro Area, is seeking several Buyers for their Merchandising Team.  The Buyers will be responsible for ensuring that the merchandising strategies for their assigned departments meet or exceed the financial plans. The incumbents will plan, buy and merchandise departments to achieve maximum sales, inventory turns and gross margin dollars in order to grow the comp store business and promote the brand image.    The incumbents will also serve in a lead creative liaison role with our client's Design & Product Development Team, located in Manhattan.   A unique blend of creative and analytical abilities is a requirement for this position.     Key Responsibilities:   Partnership with the Planning Team in developing seasonal and annual plans.Partnership with the Planning Team on OTB management, to include recommending changes to re-orders, pricing, markdowns, replenishment and allocation. Collaboration with the Merchandising and the Design Teams to gather input, share line development direction, assortment content and communicate business strategies.   Development of seasonal marketing/events plans. Execution of regional customization strategies. Identification of new opportunities to maximize sales and meet the financial objectives.  Testing and analysis of ideas for new product concepts.Store visits and competitive analysis.Participation in management meetings and presentation of product analysis for assigned departments. Collaboration with Visual Team to create floor sets with a marketing flair and communication with stores regarding product information.  Qualifications:  3-5 years apparel buying experience.  Previous experience in working with Design Teams and Product Development Teams will be preferred.    Previous experience working in an environment where Buyers partnered closely with Planners.     Bachelors degree or previous work experience required. Previous experience in a sku intensive environment. Solid computer skills, including Excel.Comprehensive relocation packages will be offered.
