Entry level occupations may include sales associates, cashiers, stock clerks, order fillers, or customer service representatives. Successful candidates will be personable and enjoy working with the public. Training for these careers is generally provide on the job, or through company organized programs. Candidates may enter these fields with or without a high school diploma, or further education. For associates wishing to advance in the retail industry, formal education in combination with on the job training is commonly necessary.
